The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is an internationally applied standard for textiles made from certified organic fibres. It defines environmental, human rights, and social criteria for the textile processing chain. Compliance with the requirements is verified by independent, GOTS-approved certification bodies.

The Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) defines specific requirements for animal welfare, land management, and social criteria on certified sheep farms. Mulesing is not permitted under the standard. Compliance with these requirements is audited by independent certification bodies. In addition, certified wool is documented through defined traceability requirements along the supply chain.

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is an internationally applied standard for products with recycled materials. It sets requirements for the recycled content and its traceability, as well as for social and environmental criteria and the use of chemicals in processing. Compliance with the requirements is verified by independent certification bodies.

GoodWeave® is a certification program that aims to prevent child labor, forced labor, and bonded labor in supply chains. The standard also includes requirements for working conditions and workers' rights. Compliance is verified through controls and inspections in the participating production facilities.

TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers are made from wood pulp from controlled or certified sources. The production process uses a closed-loop system, in which process water and solvents are largely recovered and reused. The fibers are characterized by a soft, smooth surface and a pleasant feel.

LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose fibers are produced from wood from controlled or certified sources. The manufacturing process meets requirements defined by Lenzing, and the fibers are identifiable throughout the supply chain. EcoVero™ combines the typical properties of viscose with a soft feel and flowing drape.

The World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) evaluates companies based on established criteria for fair trade practices. These include, among other things, working conditions, fair pay, the prohibition of child and forced labor, and transparency in business relationships. Compliance is regularly monitored as part of the WFTO Guarantee System. Selected Tranquillo products are manufactured by WFTO-verified producers.

These manufacturers are certified under ISO 14001. This international standard sets requirements for the environmental management system of a company or production site. The certification applies to the manufacturer’s environmental management practices and not to individual products. You can find out whether this applies to a specific product on the product page.

Organic cotton is cultivated according to the principles of organic farming. This means that the use of synthetic pesticides and readily soluble mineral fertilizers is restricted or excluded; instead, methods and agents approved in the respective organic standard are used. Genetically modified seeds are not used.

Cotton fibers can be processed in many ways and are used by Tranquillo for numerous textiles. For appropriately marked products, certifications such as GOTS provide additional information on the specific requirements that have been tested.

Stainless steel is heat-resistant, robust, and durable. Products made of stainless steel can be reused many times, making them a practical alternative to single-use products and certain plastic items in everyday life.

Natural products are products that consist predominantly of materials of natural origin. Depending on the material and manufacturing process, natural differences in color, structure, or surface may occur, making each piece unique.

Selected products are handcrafted in manufactories. Due to the artisanal production, small differences may arise, making each piece unique.

We label products as hand-stamped when patterns or decorations are applied by hand using stamps. Due to this artisanal process, small differences in color, shape, and pattern can occur, making each piece a unique item.

We label materials and products as vegan if no animal-derived ingredients are used in their production. For ceramics and porcelain, for example, this means that the raw materials used do not contain bone meal or other animal-derived components.

Plant-based raw materials form the basis: Products marked accordingly use ingredients that are free from animal-derived components.

Dinnerware, cups, and kitchen accessories made from food-grade materials are suitable for their intended contact with food and designed for daily use in the kitchen.

The manufacturing process uses raw materials that are partially or entirely reprocessed. This gives used materials a new purpose and reintroduces them into the material cycle.

Consciously without palm oil: The formulations of these products are free from palm oil and palm oil-based ingredients, relying instead on selected vegetable oils.

Durable products are designed to be used over a longer period. Robust materials, careful manufacturing, and proper care can help maintain their properties and function for as long as possible.
